Aimé Leon Dore

Wikipedia says Aimé Leon Dore was founded in March 2014 by fashion designer Teddy Santis, and The Fashion Law gives the same year. Highsnobiety's brand profile says it was founded in 2014 in Queens, New York, and describes Santis as a Greek-American designer. Wikipedia lists the headquarters as Queens, New York City.

According to Wikipedia, the first planned name was Aimé, which proved difficult to trademark because it was such a broad word. The name became Aimé Leon Dore, combining Santis's father's nickname Leon with Dore, from Santis's first name Theodore.

The Fashion Law reported that LVMH Luxury Ventures took a minority stake in the brand, in an announcement dated 18 January 2022. Cassius reported the same news, said financial details were yet to be disclosed, and described Santis as the brand's founder.

Wikipedia's infobox lists the company as private. We found no source giving the size of the LVMH stake, the terms or the current cap table.

Highsnobiety describes the style as a mix of classic menswear and streetwear with an urban preppy character, an emphasis on high-quality materials and attention to detail, and says the brand has stayed relatively small and focused. That page carries no publication date.

Cassius's review of the Fall/Winter 2021 collection, published 28 August 2021, describes thick jackets, woolen caps and sweaters, New York references including Yankees and Mets logos, and Greek heritage imagery in the promo video, such as Zeus and Hera, the Acropolis and tzatziki. Brand-store listings in October 2026 included tees, hoodies, a track jacket, denim and hats.

Wikipedia lists Aimé Leon Dore collaborations with New Balance: the 997 in April 2019, the 990v2 and 990v5 in November 2019, and the 827 in March 2020, described as the first revival of that shoe in over 20 years. Business of Fashion, in a 23 February 2022 article by M.C. Nanda, describes Santis as creative director of New Balance's Made in USA line. Only the headline and visible text of that article were readable.

Porsche's newsroom said in a release dated 6 February 2020 that it had worked with Aimé Leon Dore on a restored Porsche 911 Carrera 4 (type 964), using period-correct original Porsche parts and support from Porsche Classic. It quotes Santis saying the project "has been a dream come true".

Kith and Aimé Leon Dore released the KITH x Aimé Leon Dore Chapter 1 collection on Friday 9 January 2015: ten pieces in black and oxblood with a vintage boxing theme, sold at Kith stores and online. Kith's copy calls Ronnie Fieg and Teddy Santis friends and co-founders who were both raised in Queens, NY. Complex, on 2 January 2015, described the collection as continuing Aimé Leon Dore's emphasis on cozy boy basics with an elevated sportswear element added by Kith. Complex did not compare the two brands directly.

Wikipedia says the first physical store opened in 2016 on Mott Street in Nolita, and a larger flagship opened in 2019 on Mulberry Street with an attached coffee shop, Café Leon Dore. Wikipedia places that flagship in Nolita, while the Porsche release places the Mulberry Street flagship in SoHo.

On the brand's own site, checked in October 2026 with no sale label shown and prices given with a $ sign but no currency code: Micro Logo tee $85, Unisphere tee $95, Tonal Logo hoodie $195, Unisphere hoodie $195, Saint George track jacket $300, Relaxed Fit denim $300 and Unisphere hat $70.

StockX labels $1,500 as the retail price of the Triboro Chess Club varsity jacket in green and cream, released 23 August 2025, and $130 as the retail price of the New Balance 550 Aimé Leon Dore in white and navy, though its release date fields conflict. Kith's 2015 listing priced the collaboration's Astoria robe at $275 in USD, a historical price rather than a current one. These are different items and dates, so they are not like-for-like.
