Wikipedia lists Tyler Okonma, known as Tyler, the Creator, as founder of Golf Wang, and lists the company as private with no further ownership detail. Complex credits Tyler with full creative control and says Phil Toselli has co-designed the line since its inception; Complex does not call Toselli a founder.

How it started
Complex says the name is a flip on the Odd Future collective's Wolf Gang title, and that Golf Wang began as a step above Odd Future's regular merch. An Odd Future merch shop operated on Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles for about three years before 2014, and Complex says Golf Wang had fully split into its own entity by 2014.
The FADER says Odd Future opened a month-long pop-up in Los Angeles in November 2011, and that the first official lookbook, Holiday 1991, followed in December. Wikipedia dates that lookbook to 11 December 2011.
What Golf Wang makes
Complex describes bright, fluorescent colors and youthful graphics, with later seasons becoming more refined and newer cut-and-sew pieces dropping the cartoonish doodles and branding. It lists T-shirts, short-sleeve button-ups, knit sweaters, work jackets, socks and footwear, and says a flame pattern debuted in Spring/Summer 2015. The FADER names T-shirts, velour tracksuits, brightly colored fur and delicate gold earrings.

Complex describes Vans Era sneaker variations from 2013 to 2016, and quotes Tyler telling Dazed in 2017 that Vans "just wouldn't let me grow". Wikipedia says the Converse line GOLF le FLEUR* was introduced in June 2016 and had its first release on 13 July 2017, and that Tyler announced on 3 December 2025 that LE FLEUR* would end its collections after Season 4. Hypebae reported a Levi's collaboration released on 20 May 2020 for 501 Day, sold online by Levi's and Golf Wang. It quoted Levi's chief marketing officer Jennifer Sey calling Tyler a dream partner for 501 Day.
