Who founded READYMADE
Midwest says READYMADE was launched by Yuta Hosokawa in Japan in 2013. Hypebeast's HB100 profile describes Hosokawa as Founder and Designer at READYMADE and as Japanese, and JUICE describes him as the founder who launched his own brand in 2013.
Openers says Hosokawa made the first READYMADE bag in 2013 and took it to Maxfield in Los Angeles. We did not find a source that says who owns the company.
What READYMADE makes
Midwest describes the brand as using vintage military fabrics to make apparel and accessories from discarded items. JUICE says its approach centres on repurposing vintage garments and breathing new life into military goods and surplus wear. Feature gives the brand's theme as promoting world peace.
Hypebeast says READYMADE took a Japanese staple and made it desirable for an American audience, and that a Timberland shoe was turned inside out in a collaboration.
Collaborations
Hypebeast lists collaborations including Medicom Toy, Maxfield LA, F.C. Real Bristol and Timberland, and a Travis Scott T-shirt pack, and describes the list as partial. Sidebar headlines on the same page also refer to BAPE and an AKIRA art wall T-shirt pack, but the article text does not cover them.
Hypebeast also reported a Blue Bandana Down Jacket, a READYMADE x The North Face homage, at JPY 288,000.
Where to buy READYMADE and what it costs
Midwest lists the DOROTHY BAG MEDIUM at JPY 176,000, the BACKPACK at JPY 115,500 and the OVERNIGHT BAG MEDIUM at JPY 286,000, each shown with a regular price equal to its sale price. It also lists POCKET at JPY 31,900 and RINGER at JPY 37,400, without stating what kind of garment these are. The listing carried no date when we checked it in October 2026.
Hypebeast's 2021 article on the Blue Bandana Down Jacket gave JPY 288,000, about $2,775 according to the article, and did not say whether that was a retail or sale price or give a release date. JUICE points customers to its Causeway Bay store, and its website, for READYMADE products. We could not confirm from an opened page whether the brand's own site sells online.
