Who founded Études and who owns it

The brand's About page names Aurélien Arbet and Jérémie Egry as the founders, and says it was founded in 2012. French Wikipedia says the collective was founded in 2012 by the duo of Egry and Arbet and is based in Paris. In a FashionNetwork interview published on 22 January 2015, Arbet said the brand launched in September 2012 and that the founders had set up a fashion label called Hixsept ten years earlier.

The same FashionNetwork article names José Lamali as design and production manager. The brand's About page names only Arbet and Egry as founders.

FashionNetwork's introduction said in 2015 that new shareholders, including Fashion Capital Partners and Headbangers Publishing, had joined the company. We found no more recent statement of ownership.

What Études makes

The About page lists ready-to-wear in jackets and coats, trousers, denim, suits and sets, T-shirts, sweatshirts, knitwear, shirts, shorts and essentials, and accessories including caps and beanies, eyewear, scarves and gloves, wallets, shoes and socks, and books. It highlights the Blue Klein and twelve stars taken from the European flag as graphic motifs, and cites street culture and modernist design as references.

In the October 2015 Hypebeast interview, the interview quotes "The graphics are very important" and "the clothes are meant to be worn." In the FashionNetwork article, Lamali said "Notre idée est d'être créatif et de rester accessible", which translates as the idea being to be creative and remain accessible.

Collaborations

The About page names Andy Warhol, Maia Ruth Lee and FREITAG among its collaborations. French Wikipedia lists artist collaborations with Daniel Everett (2015), Mark Gonzales (2016), Dike Blair (2017), Robert Crumb (2018) and Henry Taylor (2019), and brand capsules with Adidas (2018), Karl Kani (2019) and Starter (2019).

Where to buy Études and what it costs

Études sells online at etudes-studio.com, with prices in euros. French Wikipedia says it opened its first store in 2015 at 14 rue Debelleyme in Paris, and had a corner inside Galeries Lafayette Haussmann in 2018; we did not check whether either still operates. In January 2015, Arbet named Opening Ceremony, Assembly and Creatures of Comfort as points of sale, and FashionNetwork said the brand was sold in 130 points of sale worldwide. The Berlin retailer gate194 also lists the brand.

When we checked in October 2026, etudes-studio.com showed sale prices next to struck-through regular prices: a Boxy Sweatshirt Season at €75 (regular €250), a Boxy Zipped Jacket Drips at €70 (regular €350) and Bootcut Jeans at €68 (regular €340). gate194 listed a Regular T-Shirt AW Flowers at €83 against a listed €149, and a Hoodie AW Études Signed at €209 against €349. The sale prices are sale prices, and we could not confirm that the listed regular figures are the full-price retail figures.
