Brands like Sacai: 7 alternatives, from Tokyo labels to avant-garde streetwear
The closest matches to Sacai, in our view, are Poliquant, Visvim and Number (N)ine. Wikipedia says Sacai was founded in 1999 by Chitose Abe and is headquartered in Tokyo. Poliquant is a Tokyo label founded in 2016 by Junichi Sugita, according to HBX and Sabukaru; Wikipedia and Oui Speak Fashion give Tokyo as Visvim's headquarters; and Hypebeast quotes Hint Magazine calling Number (N)ine a Tokyo-based men's label launched by Takahiro Miyashita. If it is the designer-meets-sportswear angle, Off-White is the one to look at, since Sacai and Off-White both have Nike collaborations.
Yokogao describes the idea behind Sacai as the fusion of garments or fabrics to create something new. The sacai Official Store page we opened did not show item prices, so we have no price for Sacai's own line and we make no 'cheaper' claim. We have sorted the picks by what you are probably after: another Tokyo label, a designer label that reworks existing clothes, or Nike-style collaboration energy.

What 'like Sacai' usually means
In our view, alternatives usually offer one or more of three things: the design idea (hybrid or reworked garments), the origin (a Japanese label) or the collaborations (sportswear partners). Few brands deliver all of them.
Fashionography says hybridity is central to Sacai's design philosophy, juxtaposing diverse fabric textures to create unexpected garment forms. Wikipedia says Vogue credits Sacai with breaking down the dichotomy between casual and formal clothing, and gives a 2016 to 2022 span of collaborations with partners including The North Face, A.P.C., Nike and Dior.
For prices, the only figures we have are for collaborations: Snobette reported in May 2019, ahead of launch, that the Nike sacai LDWaffle was priced at $180 and the Blazer Mid at $140. Those are 2019 collaboration prices, not a guide to Sacai's main line, so every price note below says 'no like-for-like price'.

The closest match in our view. HBX says Junichi Sugita created Poliquant in early 2016, and Sabukaru also says 2016 and calls him a Tokyo-born designer. EYE_C says outerwear is the label's speciality.
What it shares
- A Tokyo label built around pieces that change: Sabukaru lists multi-use jackets with connecting layers and baggy drawstring trousers, and Yokogao describes the idea behind Sacai as the fusion of garments or fabrics
- Outerwear collaborations: TAION announced its first-ever collaboration with Poliquant, a 4-in-1 modular down system for FW25; Wikipedia lists Sacai collaborations with The North Face and Nike, among others
- Japanese craft: HBX says the label combines Japanese craftsmanship with European-style tailoring and fit
Where it differs
- Newer (founded 2016 against Sacai's 1999), with a technical bent: EYE_C describes space-like uniforms with military and outdoor references and names Pertex
- We could not read Poliquant's own website, so we cannot say whether it sells direct online; HBX and Foot District stock it

- We could not confirm who legally owns the company; visvim.tv's footer reads Cubism Inc.
- Price vs Sacai
- No like-for-like price. The only Visvim prices we could verify are from a November 2018 MR PORTER capsule, shown with a $ sign, no currency and no sale status: a printed T-shirt at $315 and a Jumbo Loopback Hoodie at $730. - A designer label with runway ambitions: Highsnobiety says the original label evolved from a graphic-heavy affair to elegant, influential runway shows, and Wikipedia says Vogue credits Sacai with breaking down the casual and formal divide

- Fashion Studies Journal describes a post-Soviet aesthetic, with appropriation and legacy as recurring themes

A note on dupes and replicas
We don't list replicas. Sacai sells through its Official Store at sacai.jp, which has a store locator, so buying from it is the clearer route. We found no source on how Sacai handles counterfeits, so we make no claim about it.
A genuine alternative is a different brand with its own designs. The picks above were chosen on that basis: each is a separate brand selling under its own name.

How we chose these brands
We shortlisted seven brands from the directory whose design idea, origin or collaboration style overlaps with Sacai, using only brands whose research records we have completed. Facts such as founding, ownership and prices come from the numbered sources in each brand's research record, opened and checked in October 2026, and the page text was then checked against them by an independent pass. Rankings, 'what it shares' and 'best for' are our editorial judgement: no reputable source we found compares most of these brands to Sacai directly. Price comparisons are like for like only where the garment, currency and listing type are comparable; otherwise we say so, and we found no price for Sacai's own line to compare against. Prices are single snapshots from retailers and brand sites and will change.
