Brands like HUF: 7 alternatives, from skate labels to shop-born streetwear
The closest matches to HUF, in our view, are Palace, Polar Skate Co. and Supreme. Boardertown says HUF was founded in 2002 by professional skateboarder Keith Hufnagel, and Complex says it began as a shop in San Francisco. Polar was founded by a professional skateboarder too, according to Boardertown; Palace is a London skate brand that Wikipedia dates to 2009; and Complex says HUF's original shop became a conduit for emerging brands including Supreme.
We found no like-for-like price between HUF and any pick. The only HUF prices we could read were on its huf x Three 6 Mafia collaboration items, in dollars and undated, checked in October 2026. Those are collaboration pieces, so they are not a guide to HUF's regular range. We have sorted the picks by what you are probably after: skate roots, a shop-to-label story, or collaboration-led streetwear.

What 'like HUF' usually means
In our view, people looking for an alternative to HUF want one or more of three things: the skate roots (a label started by a skater, with boards and skate collaborations), the shop-to-brand story, or the look (graphic tees, hoodies, socks and hats). Few brands deliver all three.
HUF's own site navigation lists T-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts, jackets, socks, jewelry, bags and decks. Complex says many know the brand for its Plantlife socks, and that it worked on Nike shoes, including the HUF Blazer, without giving dates. HUF's About page lists stores in the United States, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
On price: HUF's homepage in October 2026 showed the huf x Three 6 Mafia collection at $230 for a jacket, $120 for a heavyweight hoodie, $45 for a T-shirt and $16 for a sock, with no date and no retail or sale label. Because these are collaboration pieces, we do not treat them as a yardstick, and each price note below says 'no like-for-like price' unless a pick lists a real match.

Where it differs
- Complex's oral history quotes Paul Mittleman calling Stüssy 'a brand of the remix, not a brand of Americana'; the sources we opened do not describe HUF that way
- Wikipedia says that as of 2017 the Sinatra family owns Stüssy; we found no source on current ownership more recent than that
- Price vs HUF
- No like-for-like price. We could not capture prices from stussy.com. StockX labels a retail price of $80 for a Basic Stussy thermal top (September 2025) and $325 for a Micro Ripstop Down Jacket (October 2025); HUF's dollar prices are from its own site on collaboration items.

A note on dupes and replicas
We don't list replicas. HUF's own site has a product catalogue with prices, and its About page lists stores in the United States, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan, so those are the clearer routes. We found no source on how HUF handles counterfeits, so we make no claim about it.
A genuine alternative is a different brand with its own designs. The picks above were chosen on that basis: each is a separate brand selling under its own name.
Frequently asked questions
What are the best brands like HUF?
In our assessment, Polar Skate Co., Palace and Supreme come closest: skate-rooted labels with their own logos and collaborations. Stüssy and Staple suit you if you want an older graphic-tee label.
Are there cheaper brands like HUF?
We could not show a clear case. The HUF prices we could read were on its huf x Three 6 Mafia collaboration items in dollars, and the alternatives list pounds, euros or dollars on different items, or mark prices as sale prices.
Who founded HUF?
Boardertown says professional skateboarder Keith Hufnagel founded HUF in 2002, and Complex says it began as a shop in San Francisco.
Who owns HUF?
We could not confirm current ownership from an opened source. Complex reports that Hufnagel brought in investors around 2010 to start the footwear program.
Is there a HUF dupe?
We don't list replicas. Each brand on this page sells under its own name; we do not list replica sellers.
Where can you buy HUF?
HUF's homepage shows a catalogue with prices and a Sale link, and its About page lists stores in the United States (HUF Hawaii in Kailua), Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
How we chose these brands
We shortlisted seven brands from the directory whose story, look or collaboration style overlaps with HUF, using only brands whose research records we have completed. Facts such as founding, ownership and prices come from the numbered sources in each brand's research record, opened and checked in October 2026. Rankings, 'what it shares' and 'best for' are our editorial judgement: the sources we opened do not compare most of these brands to HUF directly. Price comparisons are like for like only where the garment, currency and listing type are comparable; otherwise we say so, and the only HUF prices we could read were collaboration items. Prices are single snapshots from retailers and brand sites and will change.
